dc.description.abstract | The aim of research is to find out the improvement of students’ vocabulary mastery through Crossword Puzzle at grade VIII of SMP N.37 Medan in academic year 2013/2014. This study wasconducted by using classroom action reserarch. The population of this study is grade eight of SMP Negeri 37 Medan. The total number of population is 220. There are 22 students taken as the sample. This research is done in two cycle. Each cycle consisted of two meetings. The instrument for collecting data is the students’ testscore as the quantitative data and diary notes and observation sheet is collected as qualitative data. Based on the data, it is found that the mean of students’ score increased from the first test until the third test. The mean of sudents’ score in Pre-Test is 60.90. the mean of students’ score in Post-Test cycle I is 68.86. The mean of students’ in Post-Test cycle II is 79.31. It can be concluded that the application of crossword puzzle had successfully improved the students’ vocabulary mastery. | en_US |
