AN ANALYSIS OF DEIXIS IN CRUELLA MOVIE SCRIPT

Abstract

This study focuses on deixis in pragmatics. This research aims to determine the types of deixis in and the realization that contained in the Cruella movie script. The object of this research is utterances containing deixis in the movie Cruella based on the main character. In this research, the method used in this research is a descriptive with a qualitative study. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that the use of deixis in Cruella movie script based on the main character is 338 data, were 87% data in person deixis, 7,9% of spatial deixis, and 4,7% of temporal deixis. From the analysis of deixis, person deixis is the most dominant type because person deixis as an object, as the clue possession, and as a subject are the functions that mostly found in most researches.
