dc.description.abstract | The aim of the study was to examine the diversity of fish species in the waters of the mangrove areas of Jaring Halus village, Langkat District. Sampling was done three times during December 2016 to January 2017 with 2 weeks interval. Fish samples were caught using gillnets which settled up on 9.00 AM to 3.00 PM at three sampling stations. A total of 19 species of fish belonging to the 8 orders, 14 families, and 16 genera were recorded during the sampling. Family Mugilidae, Ambassidae and Gobiidae were found in every station and at every time of data collection. A total of 12 species were recorded in station I, 10 species in station II, and 9 species were found in station III. A total of 11 species recorded during the first sampling, 15 species caught during second sampling and 14 species were found in the last sampling. Seriding A. Buruensis, teri paku S. Heterolobus, mullets V. Engeli, mudskiper P. Kaloko were the predominat species. | en_US |
