dc.description.abstractThis study investigates the effect of the Fly Swatter Game on students' vocabulary mastery in the seventh grade of SMP Parulian 2 Medan. The study was conducted using a true experimental design, where students were divided into an experimental group, which received the Fly Swatter Game treatment, and a control group, which was taught using conventional methods. Both groups were given pre- tests and post-tests to measure their vocabulary improvement. The findings of the study revealed that the experimental group showed a significant increase in vocabulary mastery compared to the control group. The mean score of the experimental group improved from 58.26 (pre-test) to 77.33 (post-test). The t-test analysis resulted in a t-count of ( 3.144, ) which was higher than ������������ at the level of significance= 0,05 (1,673) or ������������ > ������������ 3,144 > 1,673. It means that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. indicating a statistically significant effect. The results suggest that using the Fly Swatter Game as a vocabulary teaching method can enhance students' engagement, motivation, and retention of new words. The game-based learning approach allows students to interact actively with vocabulary, making the learning process more enjoyable and effective .en_US
